Application development Manager & Sr. Software Developer

 

As a Sr. Software Developer, I lead and manage a small development team of 6 programmers, 1 DBA, and 2 UNIX administrators.  I have successfully completed a number of mission critical enterprise level applications that all UNFPA staff (Approx. 5000) and upper management use and depends on daily bases.


My top ten applications are:
 

1-      Global directory (SOA) and user data search engine, Facebook like professional tool & role provisioning system for our intranet applications.

2-      Integrated budget system for all UNFPA’s offices/departments/sections.  The system is loaded with financial tools for calculations and estimation.  It also includes multi-level approval work flow and business intelligence dashboard for budget units’ use.

3-      Office management planning system that allows all the offices/departments/sections to build a planned outputs and goals with activities while linking them to staff.   It is also a project management tool for all team leaders on activities to update progress and log risks and over all status.  

4-      360 Performance Appraisal & development system.  This system is built and integrated with the office management planning system and the global directory to determine what each and every staff will be evaluated against at the end of the year.   It also propose development plans based on previous years rating and office current projects.  It has approval components and many dashboards and ad-Hoc reports for DHR and Legal units to crunch out HR statistics and data. This system was inter-agency recognized to be the most useful and since then was acquired by UNICEF and WFP customized and hosted by UNFPA.

5-      Annual Report system which is used by all offices and units to report progress on the organizational goals, thematic areas, outcomes, outputs, and key performance indicators.    All data entries are validated on the fly against our finance & administration services system as well as the office management plan and request extra details if the data doesn’t match.   It also features multi-layer approval work flow component with a bird eye view for regional directors to observe and pinpoint Programme failure points geographically with Google maps integration.

6-      Contract Review Committee System which is a typical scheduling system with multiple roles and workflows to allow users to submit requests that exceed the office tolerance for discussion and approval.     

7-      Implementing Partners Information Management System it is used to register, track, validate all UNFPA partners and provide ratings and comments from all departments on services.  Also it exposes all financial expenditures and transactions as well as all letters of agreements involved.

8-      In-house portal and content management system to give each and every unit an intranet web presence.

9-      Donor agreement report tracking system which keep track of all UNFPA donors and budget holders and detailed list supported by documents and digits with an extranet access to donors to view their fund status.

10- Integrated Service desk system with ITIL compliance to track bugs, issues, and assigning tasks to individuals based on categories and subcategories selected.  It is also integrated with our mail server to capture and include all emails with service request id number into the case log database.

Developed Corporate Level intranet, website, internal systems and applications using ColdFusion, JQuery, Java script, CSS, XML, Flash, and SQL server. Coordinated full range of project development from initial proposal to final delivery.
